There is not one mission in the New Testament. There is the mission of Jesus and his immediate followers in Jerusalem to Israel, which would end with the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in AD 70. And there is the mission of the apostles in the Greek-Roman world, the climax of which would be the confession of Jesus as Lord by the nations of the empire.
